Translator’s Notes:
I can say with 1000% certainty that I am so proud of this song! It took me two days to finally figure out most of this song, and two years later I finally figured out a way to translate a few lines that I was stuck on. Last year during the summer I finalized everything and decided I was done with all the editing, I later (way later) made the video. So there we go! This song is a “singable” translation, meaning you can sing it, and the meaning of the original lyrics are also intact.
I REALLY REALLY love this song! I actually found myself singing the English version (my version xD) from time to time while I’m cooking. It’s a shame I can’t really sing, otherwise I’d love to hear this song being done correctly >~< I’m thinking of giving this song to a friend of mine, she’s got a great voice so I think she’ll be able to do it justice 🙂

The last line is kinda ambiguous, it could be interpreted as the person saw through the wordiness of life and decided to dedicate themselves to religion, since throughout the song there were a lot of Buddhism related aspects. This is the more likely explanation since 红尘 is what the monks or people of that religion call the world outside of their belief. The world of laity is called 尘世 or 红尘. I couldn’t find one that worked well in the song so I used mortal world, since they could have risen above it all became a Buddha. Anyway, it does leave something to the imagination. 🙂
